Creating Outlook calendar entries using TaskCentre and the Microsoft Exchange Web Service
by Installer on Apr.17, 2012, under Exchange 2007
This video shows you how to build a task that creates calendar entries in user’s Outlook folders using Exchange web services. This is particularly useful in the service industry or indeed in any scenario where users control their daily schedule through Outlook. It demonstrates that a record set queried from an ERP system can be consumed by the Web Service Connector tool and be translated and graphically mapped to the Exchange Web Services. In this specific example we are using the Createitem method to create calendar entries in engineers’ calendars, but similar tasks could be created for many different purposes. The source data could be event driven using our trigger event tools reacting to changes in an application database and updating Exchange in real time, or be based on a scheduled query, or perhaps another web service call retrieving data from the source application.

Tutorial – How to install a calendar replication between Vision8020 and Exchange 2007/2010
by Installer on Mar.26, 2012, under Exchange 2007
In this tutorial I’ll show you how to install a calendar replication between the telephony-, diversion and support system – Vision 80/20 and Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010. With this replication you can replicate calendar events created in your Outlook client which will create diversions on your extension and link it to the correct reason of the diversion. I will also describe how it works and how you can troubleshoot it as well. Shell commands available: Recommended commands Exchange 2007 Get-ExchangeServer | where {$_.IsClientAccessServer -eq $TRUE} | ForEach-Object {Add-ADPermission -Identity $_.distinguishedname -User (Get-User -Identity vision8020 | select-object).identity -extendedRights ms-Exch-EPI-Impersonation} Get-MailboxDatabase | ForEach-Object {Add-ADPermission -Identity $_.DistinguishedName -User vision8020 -ExtendedRights ms-Exch-EPI-May-Impersonate} These commands will grant the user vision8020 impersonation-rights on all CAS and database-servers in the exchange environment. Alternative commands (only use if access is needed to a limited set of databases), if there are multiple databases for mailboxes on the Exchange server, or if there are multiple Exchange servers, see commands in the manual. Recommended commands Exchange 2010: New-ManagementRole -Name RoleImpersonation -Parent ApplicationImpersonation New-ManagementRoleAssignment -Role RoleImpersonation -Name ManRoleImpersonation -User vision8020

Zimbra-ZMail Collaboration Suite is much more than an Ajax mail client. Zimbra-ZMail dramatically improves the messaging and collaboration experience for administrators and users. Zimbra-ZMail achieves this by investing in innovation, open source, and compatibility with existing applications and systems. The Zimbra-ZMail Collaboration Suite supports Windows, Apple, and Linux platforms and works with Microsoft Outlook as well as other PC and mobile clients. Additionally, Zimbra-ZMail provides an AJAX browser based client that delivers rich, secure, anytime access for anyone within the enterprise. Tests show Zimbra-ZMail has a 2-3x performance over Exchange with the same workload, and they have drop-in compatibility with Outlook and other Exchange-built clients. For administrators, the idea of Exchange without Exchange is sexy. You can do all the group calendaring and meeting management that Exchange provides, without needing a tricked-out Windows box grinding away on the backend. You don’t even need Windows clients–the Ajax client means anyone can use it. Zimbra-ZMail is the Microsoft Exchange replacement, offering more functionality, less maintenance and overhead, and it cost less. Zimbra-ZMail Email Collaboration Suite is an open source server and client technology for next-generation enterprise messaging and collaboration. Zimbra-ZMail delivers innovation for both the administrator and the end-user as well as compatibility with existing infrastructure and applications …
